At this quarry development, ROQ carried out early-stage works to establish a new silt settlement pond before stripping operations advanced across the site.
The objective was to create the capacity required to control surface water, runoff and suspended fines as excavation progressed.
Without this infrastructure in place, rainfall and runoff would quickly compromise production areas and slow program progress.
Quarry developments often involve large areas of exposed ground where rainfall and runoff can quickly disrupt earthmoving operations.
